Serious Art

In Thailand and Cambodia, Buddhist monks
wandering the streets in their bright orange
robes are as common as bar girls.

There was a restaurant near my hotel in Bangkok
where the waitresses dressed in traditional attire.
I intended this as a cartoon, but for some reason
it ended up being a serious drawing.

Expats

I saw this guy on Walking Street in Pattaya (Thailand)

Le proprieteur du Hotel L'Imprevu au Phnom Pehn (Cambodia)

The persistence of Indian tailors annoys the Hell out of me. This
character is a composite of the many Indian tailors who have
stalked me. That beard was actually sported by one in Pattaya.

It would be funny if it weren't so true.

Bar Girls

A composite character of all the bar girls I've
seen in Thailand. Unfortunately, as a permanent
feature of Asian nightlife, they are unavoidable.

Sweeties is a bar on Walking Street in Pattaya (Thailand).
As I wandered by one evening, I couldn't help but notice
the girls dancing in the doorway were a little more rotund
than those at other bars. While not as morbidly obese as this
character, they definitely should avoid wearing spandex.
